I finally have a chance to sit down and update
everybody on our two boys Buddy and Ricky Bobby.
Lets start with Buddy. As you know me and Buddy
ran into some training issues quite a few weeks
ago. After several attempts to correct the problem
(with lots of help and advice) we have decided not
to push Buddy's training any further. I will show
him "in hand" at the Wyoming challenge
but not under saddle.
I believe that
who ever adopts him will be able to continue his
training successfully as long as there is no time
limit. He is a great horse but needs more time to
feel completely comfortable with a rider.
Monday,
August 4th
Bath day for Buddy. Today we gave Buddy a good
groomin. He stood great even when three of us were
either scraping, scrubbing, or rinsing him. He even
let us clip his ears. Right in the middle of it
all the trash truck showed up. Boy did he do good.
He didn't even spook once, we even chased it down
the driveway. The rest of the week I will be preparing
Buddy for the Wyoming trip.
Wyoming Challenge
Hi
everybody,
We are back from Wyoming and did we have a good
time. Buddy did better than I could ever have expected.
Many people fell in love with him. We only competed
in the in hand class and 2 minute "best at"
portion. He did everything I asked of him without
hesitation. We scored very well. He was adopted
to a great family from Wyoming. They have a very
large ranch and I am confident he will be well taken
care of and loved. I would like to thank everybody
for their help and support during Buddy's training
and your continued support while me and Ricky Bobby
prepare for Fort Worth.
