Wednesday, May 28th

Ok, it has been a minute or two since I updated everybody on me and Buddy's progress. The last few days have been just reinforcing everything we have been working on. Today I worked at tying. I used a tie ring so he could get away if he felt trapped. He did really well. He now lets me pick up all four feet and pick them out. He stands well while I get in and out of the saddle. He loads automatically in the trailer. He still needs work with his personal space. Yesterday he allowed four people at once to pet him. That was big. Anyway I plan on introducing him to water out of a hose soon. This boy is amazing.

Saturday, May 31st

OK! So it has been a day or two since my last update, but we have been just working on the basics and riding in the round pen.
As you know today was Buddy's first day in the spotlight. And since you all were here you know he did really good. He was calm and handled all the obstacles with ease. Even the new ones. He accepted the saddle nicely and let me ride him in front of you guys. After everybody got their turn petting Buddy we went over to Deb and Kami's house for snacks and a video. Thank you all for coming over to see our progress, and thanks to Deb and Kami for letting us come over for the video.

Sunday, June 1st

Guess what? Today Buddy was acting like an old broke horse, so after some time riding in the round pen, we rode around the arena.

We even rode over the tarp, trot poles, and the "L" pattern, wich he backed through perfectly. I am glad we are at the next level now.

Tuesday, June 3rd

Today was Farrier day. When I first was able to pick Buddy's feet up I noticed that he might have some thrush in his right rear hoof. Since my horses were getting shoes and trims today I asked my Farrier if he would look at Buddy. He said yes and Buddy stood like a champ even when the Farrier was cutting his hoof out and applying medicine. He was pretty impressed at how well Buddy stood. What a good experience so early in his training. Thanks Buddy.

Wednesday, June 4th

Today is a day I will not soon forget. Buddy was feeling very comfortable under saddle so I wondered if he would handle loping with me. And he did. He was a little nervous at first but quickly smoothed right out. Fun Fun Fun. I also used the stick and string, and plastic while riding which he handled great. Buddy felt good and I felt good so I rode him out of the round pen gate. Which I opened and closed from the saddle. We loped around the arena a couple of laps. Buddy saw the barrels laying there and headed for them. OK I was a little scared to jump the barrels so I put them in the round pen.   AND THEN WE JUMPED!!!!!   and we kept jumping because it was so much fun.

Thursday, June 5th
